M.J. van Riel recently carried out a special lifting and transport job for a leading customer: the careful relocation of two impressive storage tanks with a diameter of 11 metres, a height of 14 metres and a weight of 43 tonnes each. Using a combination of our specialist trailers, hoisting equipment and craftsmanship, the entire process, from internal transport to loading onto a pontoon, was completed safely and efficiently.
From factory hall to outdoor location
The operation began in the customer’s production hall, where the enormous storage tanks were lifted using the hall cranes and loaded onto our K25s (powered modular trailers).
Placement on support chairs
Once outside, the tanks were carefully placed on support chairs. The temporary storage of heavy objects on support chairs is a commonly used method to maintain flexibility in complex logistics processes.
Safe hoisting on a pontoon
The final step was to transfer the tanks to a pontoon for further transport by water. This was done using a floating gantry, a powerful hoisting device that is specially used for heavy and large loads on or near the water. Thanks to careful preparation and an experienced team, the hoisting was carried out safely and in a controlled manner.
Expertise in heavy transport and lifting
This assignment once again demonstrates how M.J. van Riel uses specialist equipment and experienced professionals to offer tailor-made solutions for challenging transport and lifting projects. Whether it concerns large industrial installations, storage tanks or complete machines, our team ensures safe and efficient execution.
