The injection moulding machine arrived on site in 19 parts. The parts had a length of no less than 9 metres with weights varying between 3 and 42 tonnes. “The purchase of such a machine doesn’t happen every day and is a special moment for our customers,” says Jeroen Verschuren, superintendent at M.J. van Riel. “Therefore, a project like this requires precision and that is ideally carried out with a lifting gantry and a team that responds to that.”
About the lifting portal
“Unlike normal cranes, a lifting gantry lifts the load between lifting cylinders,” Verschuren continues. “The cylinders can move independently of each other, allowing the machine parts to be tilted and positioned very precisely.”The lifting gantry has a lifting capacity of up to 300 tonnes and runs fully electrically. In addition, it takes up relatively little space. In the upcoming week, the last machine parts will be delivered and the project will be completed.
