On November 3rd we achieved level 3 of the Safety Culture Ladder. The Safety Culture Ladder (SCL) – previously known as the Safety Ladder – is an instrument to measure safety awareness, attitude and behaviour within an organization. It’s our mission to promote consciously working safely.
The SCL is part of the VIA, a Dutch agreement set out in the Governance Code Safety in Construction (GCVB). As of January 1, 2022, a level two SCL certification will be required in tenders and contracts for clients who signed the GCVB.
The Safety Culture Ladder divides an organization’s safety awareness and safety behaviour into five steps. M.J. van Riel has immediately staked higher than required and has become the third company in the Netherlands to achieve Level three. “We are extremely proud of this extraordinary achievement and will continue to invest in even higher safety awareness within the business chain in the upcoming years,” said Toine Hamers, Safety Coordinator at M.J. van Riel.
