SPMTs working together for the first time

Monday 23 September 2024
Last Friday, we started a new project. In the process, we put our newly acquired SPMTs to good use.

We started by loading a transformer (weight 334 tonnes) onto a pontoon in Rotterdam, using a floating barge. After which the pontoon was sailed to the Claus power plant in Maasbracht.

On Wednesday morning 18-09-2024, we started making a roro curb (roll on roll off curb) after which we drove the transformer off the pontoon using the new SPMTs. In the same evening, we transported the transformer from the Claus power plant to its final destination.

On Thursday morning, 19-09-2024, we jacked off the transformer and placed it on the temporary emergency foundation.

Next week, we will continue with the erection and commissioning of the transformer.

By purchasing these SPMTs, we are broadening our horizons within M.J. van Riel.
